Avantages
I've worked for many companies in similar positions. I think this wide perspective qualifies me to give a fair review of an employer. In this case Ametek is either the top, or one of the very top, companies I have worked for. The compensation and benefits are good. The people are all talented and focused. They seem to treat people fairly and are able to define your goals and objectives clearly. There is a tremendous amount of tenure here as well. People tend to stay at Ametek for a very long time which might be the highest compliment as that is becoming more and more rare.
Inconvénients
Ametek is a large company that has grown by acquisition. As many of those type of companies, it is a little fragmented in structure. Corporate sometimes rolls targets and projects down that fit some of the businesses but not all of the business. You are asked to apply them universally. The focus on financials and specific metrics is taken very serious here with little understanding of circumstances. All of that said, every company has pros and cons. Overall this remains the one of the best places I have worked.
