United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. US Citizens currently residing within Europe (not ordinarily resident in Belgium). US resident alien family members of US sponsors who are citizens of NATO countries other than Belgium and possess a valid green card and US Social Security Number (SSN).

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Education: Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in child development, early childhood education, elementary or secondary education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education, or other fields appropriate to the position.
For positions in Child Development Facilities: The education must have been in child development, early childhood education, home economics (early childhood emphasis), elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.
OR one of the following:
Combination of education and experience as stated below in Option 1 & 2:
Option 1: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following:
1. 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 6 months must be in a supervisory position.
2. The McCormick Credential.
OR
Option 2: A combination of education and experience. Education: 24 semester hours in the majors stated above or a related field (see above), plus appropriate experience. Experience: Candidate must also possess all of the following:
1. At least 12 months experience working in group programs with children/youth as well as demonstrated knowledge in theories and principals of child growth/youth development of which 12 months must be in a supervisory position.
Proof of education is required at the time of application. Note: Education must be directly related to the position to be filled. General Education courses do not count toward the credit total.
