Avantages

Restaurant workers make good tips

Inconvénients

-Management is terrible -they don't care about you not one but, be careful as they have a very high turn over rate for a reason -they expect you to come in 30 min early to change and wait for their extremely slow elevator and not clock in -super high standards for little pay -0 tips because butlers steal them all (not even kidding) porters don't get to see the clients so how would they receive tips... Make it make sense

Avantages

Beautiful property, luxury brand, talented coworkers, opportunities to meet people from around the world.

Inconvénients

My experience working at Raffles Boston highlighted several workplace culture issues that management should address. While the hotel itself is beautiful and many employees are hardworking and dedicated, the employee experience often did not reflect the luxury standards presented to guests. One of the most challenging aspects of the job was the expectation to remain on your feet for extremely long shifts, sometimes up to 12 hours, with limited opportunities to take proper breaks. There were occasions when staff felt they had to find hidden places to quickly eat because taking a meal break was difficult during busy shifts. The work environment could also feel highly micromanaged. Employees were often closely monitored, which created unnecessary stress and made it difficult to feel trusted in their roles. There was little flexibility when it came to scheduling, personal needs, or work-life balance. It often felt as though employees were expected to be constantly available to accommodate management requests, and those who were unable to do so sometimes felt they were treated differently afterward. Communication and leadership consistency were ongoing concerns, and many employees felt their voices were not genuinely heard when workplace issues were raised. The hotel has incredible potential and employs many talented individuals, but meaningful improvements in employee support, fair treatment, and workplace culture would go a long way toward making it a better place to work. Cons: Long hours on your feet, difficulty taking breaks, micromanagement, limited flexibility, inconsistent leadership, poor work-life balance.
