Avantages

-I had a flexible schedule for the most part, except for when it got busy. My home life and grades plummeted and my other job started giving me more stress than usual. I guess that's what I get for attempting to work 70 hours a week. -A few of my co-workers were very nice to me.

Inconvénients

-Pay was much lower than I expected, but being a college student I thought this would look great on my resume. -The interview was unprofessional, they didn't even ask me any questions. Honestly, they hired me because I looked professional. -There was little to no contact, my office manager gave my hours to another girl one week because she was a favorite, and didn't text me back for two weeks to ask me to come back. I'm still in the process of wondering if I should even come back. I do have another job to fall back on. -Some of the tax pros were very nice and sweet, but there were a few in my office who berated me until I was reduced to tears. I made a mistake with scheduling once. I apologized to the lady who I worked with because this is my first year doing this and I genuinely felt guilty. I kept saying how sorry I was and acknowledged the fact that I had done wrong and she got mad at me in front of clients. She couldn't forgive me. She always gave me the cold shoulder before this incident too.

Avantages

Flexible availability. Path for promotion is obvious and quantified.

Inconvénients

Bonus/commission it is based on level and sales so is low in states without a state tax form. Hourly wage comes out of bonus. Pressure to sell items that don't add to your commission. They push customer surveys but you can be penalized if someone complains about the company, price, amount of emails etc even though you have no control. Some employees are frustratingly low quality and you will spend time helping or fixing their mistakes time that works against your commission. You are expected to answer phones, make appointments, scan, print, take money, help new comers all while maximizing returns. If you take over someone's client and find a mistake you are expected to work against your commission to file amendments peace of mind claims etc.
