Avantages
- Co-workers are nice (though not very professional). - Upper management has the right idea and seems approachable - Business casual dress and atmosphere. - Company pays for bagels on Friday mornings, always free coffee, and paid company wide cruise,.certification/continued education (if your manager approves, which means they have to personally like you). - PTO and benefits, many positions allow for "work from home".
Inconvénients
- Office politics and favoritism dictate opportunities for advancement/promotion. - Unprofessional work environment allows for things such as: employees that bring their kids to work regularly -- for the entire day; personal conversations and phone calls, often lewd/obscene and obnoxiously loud, in common work areas which are a constant distraction; employees who play computer games and/or watch tv/videos more often than work. - The job description posted online for marketing means working in the call center. Typical day in the "marketing department" includes 100-200 solicitation phone calls attempting to obtain information that allows those higher up to profit. Nothing else. Turnover is extremely high in this dept. There are two levels to the call center which gives the impression that the second side is an advancement. The tasks remain similar and there is a slight increase in pay. Bonus pay becomes more realistic. - Bonus structure for the call center in the first level has increasingly become unrealistic and unreachable. Typical bonus check for people in the first level is between $20-$200 per quarter.
