As Operator trainer you are part of Komatsu Europe’s Training team and responsible for the development and delivery of training programs aimed at employees operating Komatsu products. Training material, courses and classes offer training opportunities for internal Komatsu personnel, distribution personnel, end user customers.
The objective of Operator training is to offer high level product and operator training for the purpose of operating Komatsu equipment to improve customer’s safe operation, achieving higher productivity and efficiency with our products.

Responsibilities

The target of the Operator courses is the safe and proficient operation of Komatsu equipment for beginners. For experienced driver the aim is to increase their skills in effective operating techniques to maximise productivity and efficiency by lowering fuel usage employing a range of telematic systems.

Based on this target, the Operator trainer is responsible for :

• Develop, administer, and lead heavy equipment operator training programs in line with the target level of the course.
• Be a subject matter expert responsible for determining training needs, developing and creating training courses/materials in line to the department standards, style guides and requirements of protocol.
• Train Komatsu, distributor and customer employees in safe and proper methods of heavy equipment operation.
• Conducts required training courses at Komatsu Europe factories, training center locations or at customer sites. Training locations can be Europe and Africa based. Travelling ratio between 70%-80%.
• Develop performance-based systems to evaluate current and future training needs
• Test machines in operation and provide feedback to Komatsu Service Engineers, development and the manufacturing plants on machine issues regarding and report recognized issues in the appropriate manner and with appropriate documentation necessary.
• Support the Marketing Communications department with operating machines during fairs and events both internal and external.

Requirements:

• 10+ years’ experience of heavy equipment operating on various types of construction, quarry and mining equipment (i.e. Dozers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Dump Trucks, etc.)
• Training certifications on heavy equipment machinery
• Experience in developing, administering and leading construction / quarry / mining operator training programs
• Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, word, etc.)
• Strong communication skills (public-speaking, active listening, communication with different nationalities, written skills, etc.)
• Willing to travel (70% - 80%) to jobsites over Europe and Africa to deliver training and evaluate operators performance
• Team player with self-confidence and professional appearance
• Language : English is mandatory, bi-lingual (pref. French) is a plus
