Function: Lead Engineer Automation

General

The Prothya Biosolutions BE Engineering Department consists out of about 25 engineers supported by an in-house drawing room. Engineering is a centre of excellence in the different technologies that are used for fractionation of blood plasma into proteins to improve patient lives.

Objectives

As lead engineer automation, you act as an automation architect to define the strategy to implement the Pharma 4.0 principles within the production environment with a strong focus on data management.

Key responsibilities and result area’s

• You define and implement a Pharma 4.0 roadmap for the site;
• You define and improve the supporting hardware and network architecture;
• You define, based on the business needs, the necessary data streams and ways to convert them into information and knowledge;
• You define and implement the necessary cyber security measures;
• You define and implement automation solutions based on business needs;
• You use project management principles and system/documentation life cycle principles to assure successful implementations of the roadmaps/projects:
• You assure the necessary GMP compliancy of the automation systems and can act as an SME during audits/inspections;
• You act as a system owner of certain systems;
• You train and mentor colleagues on automation technologies, systems and best practices ensuring a consistent skill set and knowledge base within the organization;
• You follow the GMP/industry/automation trends to be able to adjust the roadmaps accordingly.

Your profile

• Level of education: Master in engineering or equivalent;
• Preferably, you have 3 years of experience in a similar position in the pharmaceutical sector (a minimum of a total of 8 years professional experience);
• You have demonstrable and in-depth knowledge of IACS (industrial automation & control systems), OT (operational technology) and cyber security.
• Up-to-date knowledge of European and American GMP and GEP (Good Manufacturing/Engineering Practices) guidelines.
• You have excellent knowledge of English combined with Dutch or French (both spoken and written);
• You are persuasive, communicative, and collaborative;
• You are analytical and good at solving problems;
• You are result-oriented and decisive;
• You are creative and innovative;
• You are capable of working on a project basis;
• You are a team player and are able to work independently;
• You have a continuous learning mindset to stay current with industry trends and advancements.
