Thales Belgium SA, Belgium competence center of Thales, is a company located on 2 sites, one in Tubize (near Brussels) and the other one in Herstal (near Liège). Thales Belgium, which employs more than 280 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber) and Aerospace.

Thales Belgium is currently looking for an Hardware Design & Test Engineer, who will report to the Head of HW Department. The Test Engineer participates in producing test solutions and performs qualification & development testing of communication systems and associated equipment to meet customer requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

• As Hardware Design & Test Engineer you will be responsible for the completion of a set of IVVQ (Integration, Verification, Validation, Qualification) activities within the committed cost, schedule, performance, quality and traceability
• You will also act as the interface with the customer for all the IVVQ-related issues
• To prepare, define, specify, and perform the allocated test activities required for acceptance of the solution, with support and guidance from the developer team
• To implement the IVVQ methodology covering the entire product lifecycles from the definition to the disposal of the system
• To supply tailoring rules for different project domains (e.g. HF electronics, avionics, digital electronics, etc…), development cycles and project types
• To specify activities and methods for IVVQ on the system level together with their interrelationship
• To define IVVQ strategies that can be used to reduce the IVVQ cycle cost as well as the execution time
• To identify and implement IVVQ strategies, resolve identified issues
• To ensure that all work is compliant with Thales requirements
• To implement inspections, analysis, demonstrations, and tests according to the IVVQ plan
• Develop manufacturing test processes from concept to production including determination of test equipment
• Provide interface between engineering and other departments during the effort of transitioning new products from the design phase to the production phase
• Create and maintain accurate test documentation (HTR, QTP, QTR, etc…)
• Order management for new tools and equipment when needed
• Contribute to design of analog circuits.

Profile:

Education

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• Preferably 3 years of experience in test engineering environment
• The candidate should be fluent in French and in English

Knowledge and skills

• Knowledge in Doors, Vivaldi, Mozart, Rectify, Jira are a plus, training will be provided
• Analog HF/RF circuit design capability
• Microsoft office (Word, VISIO, Excel, MS Project)
