As the Director Digital & IT - Business Control, you will hold a key role in the plant as well as in the management team. Our management team is diverse, we like unique people with remarkable talents! We work and play hard and operate as one team. We care about people, learn, improve constantly and are proud to perform. In this position you will report directly to the Vice President Operations Gent Plant.

You will lead a team of 10 people; support, coach and unleash the full potential of our talents. We are looking for someone who loves people, enjoy leadership, show commitment, and have fun. You need to be passionate about making things better for our plant and secure your teams continue to support the organization. You will collaborate with different stakeholders to improve our way of working when it comes to our digital transformation journey, financial planning and reporting together with your team. We strive to become more digital, more transparent, and always correct.

On the digital & IT side, you and your team are leading the change towards a more connected and data driven organisation. Which digital solutions and competences will support our plant to have the next breakthrough in operational excellence? On the business control side, you and your team are story tellers, you tell the story of the numbers to the whole company. What is the reality behind the numbers and how can data support us to proactively make the right decisions? You work close with both the business and the numbers.

You have successful experience from networking effectively through a diverse contact base and building enduring relationships across functional and geographical areas.

The position requires solid abilities in leading change, a strong digital mindset, managing interaction with multi-stakeholders and bridging knowledge between local processes and central processes. Communication and ability to transmit information accurately and understandably are therefore core skills.

What we see as your responsibilities
  • Be the financial business partner that positively challenges the organisation from management all the way to the shop floor
  • Drive accuracy in monthly, quarterly financial reporting and forecasting
  • Validate economic viability of all decisions taken
  • Lead continuous improvement within Business Control and follow-up the performance and development of the controlling team
  • Drive cost deployment in the factory by strong cross functional cooperation
  • Lead the site digital transformation including building the plant’s digital competence of the future
  • Accountable for quality of IT deliverables and IT security
  • Secure that IT stakeholder interfaces work seamlessly (Group IT, HC, Central function)
  • Full ownership of the plant’s IT budget (project and runtime cost)

The ticket to ride
  • You have solid experience from industrial controlling and have worked in a global matrix organization
  • You understand what it takes to drive digital transformation in an industrial organisation and are fluent in speaking the digital language
  • You have initiated and driven change with global impact and stakeholders in different parts of the organization
  • Good understanding of the business and ability to take a holistic view but be hands-on when needed
  • Experience from working in a lean manufacturing environment is a merit
  • Master’s degree in business administration (or similar)
  • Proven leadership capabilities and experience as a manager
  • Minimum 5+ years working experience in the business control field, experience within digital & IT is a strong asset
  • You are data driven and a great storyteller, a positive thinker and an open-minded non-verbal communicator and interpreter
  • You have the courage and experience to questions status quo, have a growth mindset and challenges yourself and people around you
  • Great networking skills
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge/ability to work in various systems/tools, especially SAP. Master Finance, SAP VGCS, Excel and Power BI
  • As we are a truly global and diverse company you also need great communication skills in English, spoken and written. Dutch is an asset but not a showstopper.
