- Fantastic people - they hire to a cultural fit and it shows, everyone is on board and sold on the product, and wants to have fun along the way. There is a stress on personal development that is rare to find in any other company. Everyone is open about their working methods and allows for a very seamless workplace. This is the one workplace where it is entirely okay for YOU to be YOU, which is especially rare given the high caliber work we do.
- Fantastic work - tons of exposure to senior management, internally as well as externally to client companies. The work you do will have a direct impact on the bottom line.
- Some benefits are a plus - lots of paid time off
- W/L balance - overall it would have been 5 stars for the fantastic people and work, but -1 star for the insane work load. You're expected not only to work hard, which is totally fine, but for extended hours almost every day. This includes working late at the office, answering emails in the evening and over weekends. Your average day will be 12 hours long. It's so draining, especially because the leadership team has convinced themselves that it doesn't happen and won't take criticism around this. It's so bad that although the work and people are so good, I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone.
- The company is still finding its footing - I've witnessed dramatic product cuts that completely change the way the company does business, as well as cultural shifts over my time in the company. The company prides itself on being transparent with its employees but the leadership team works behind closed doors and major announcements come as a shock to most employees. You don't know what's going to change one day over another, and not one single thing is set in stone.

Conseils à la direction
Be honest with yourself about your company. You want people to stay on board - involve them in the company workings (in both good and bad times). You half-heartedly say you want people not to work overtime - show it, act on it, model it. At the very least, hire based on the reality and what you expect of your employees, not based on what you claim you want your employees to do. Remember, it's what you will do, not what you can do.
