Overall really disappointing process. First step was a video call. I applied for a position in Barcelona (as described in the job post) and then they casually told me that they would prefer me to come into the Cologne office. Next up, they asked for my salary expectation and I said 45k (which is already pretty low considering I have a M.Sc. in Computer Science and 2 years of experience). A day later, they invited me to an assessment which consists of a coding challenge with 5 problems on Coderbyte and a data analysis task. I solved all 5 coding problems and invested 6 hours into the Jupyter Notebook for the data analysis task. I waited one week, then got rejected. The only explanation I might have is that there was someone willing to do the same job for less money. All in all, I put in a lot of effort (not counting the coding prep) just to get rejected without further details. After the interview, they reached out to me and asked me for feedback. I told them that I think that the job title is misleading. They told me that my concerns are taken seriously and that they might change it. Now - 3 weeks later- the exact same job posting is still online.
