Had 15 minuite telephone interview today for a customer service advisor role at Stoke-on-Trent. Questions are relativly easy, i got asked: What do you know of company? Why do you want to work for us? What is your numeracy like? Are you planning on staying in Staffordshire? Give example of a difficult customer and how you dealt with it, how did it make you feel? Give example of when you have excelled yourself, gone the extra mile? Give example of a time when you have been confidentual? I thought i would put my experience of the interview on here to help others. I dont know if i am through to next stage yet ( hense me putting `offer declined`), im waiting to hear back from them as only had interview today. If i do get through i go to an open evening at Stoke-on-Trent where i get told more info on role and complete a numeracy and PC test then i think a 1 to 1 interview. I will say the hours are very unsocialable, i got told its 40hr week, including 3 weekends out of 4 inc Sundays. Earliest start can be 7am and latest finish is 11pm. There is however ways to work up in the company, which is good and i also think the pay is very good but have not been told exactly how much. I have applied for this role 4 separate times in 2025. I initially got an interview for it but scheduling did not work out as it is an on site role. I recently applied again, received a notification to schedule an initial interview which I thought went very well. I was told that a short list of candidates for a follow up interview would be made within 2 days but I was not on that list. I have been rejected for roles in the past so that is not an issue. Where I take issue is that when I asked for feedback on why I was not moving forward, I was told on the day the role was to start training that it is their policy to not provide feedback “at this stage of the recruitment process” which makes no sense. I asked for feedback after I received the rejection letter. I was informed of this policy on the date the job was to start. I would not recommend working for this company.
