J'ai passé un entretien chez Worley (Stockport, Angleterre) en févr. 2020

      Entretien

Saw a job posting on gradcracker for their subsea division ‘Intecsea’ and submitted an application. About a month later got an invite to a telephone interview then about a month after that attended an assessment centre in Stockport. 15 minute telephone interview was just getting to know more about me and any experiences and skills I had gained through university and extra curricular activities. Few questions about the company and their projects so would recommend doing a bit of research before but a nice straightforward interview. Assessment centre was pretty straightforward as well, started with them asking us to get in groups and give presentations on what we knew about the company and what we expected to gain from the grad programme. Then they gave presentations on what the company actually did and the grad programme. Next, was again in groups, we were put in hypothetical situations like our plane had crashed and we had survived or our boat had sunk and we were stranded at sea. We were asked what we would do and given a list of objects that could be used in helping to survive and asked to rank them best to worst. They want to see how you work and communicate in groups so just be polite and don’t talk over anyone. In both situations it is best to stay put and wait for help. Rank objects that can be used to draw attention to your location highly along with the food/water. In this session they also got us to build a structure out of spaghetti that could hold a marshmallow at the highest distance from the table. The team that won this did a pyramid type structure, was pretty impressive how high they got it. My interview followed after lunch. Two guys doing it were nice they asked why the company, why subsea engineering, what my MEng project was about and to briefly explain, I think they asked about where the oil and gas industry was going (this was before coronavirus) and about their projects, then they asked competency based questions like teamwork, communication and other general experiences. About a week later I got offered the job but then coronavirus hit the UK and then there was the oil price war with Saudi and Russia and Worley went a bit radio silent after that. Sent a few emails but didn’t get any responses, got offered another job and took it so didn’t push that hard on where the contract went.
