There was a lot of paperwork and a review of my application before the actual interview. The interviewer was very knowledgeable but kept trying to ask questions that were outside of the job description. As I had been referred by someone higher up than the interviewer, I felt the interviewer held that against and held that against me. Also, it was very clear they were looking for someone with less experience and who was younger.

First contact is initiated by a phone call, if you are a potential candidate they will then schedule an in person interview to meet with the hiring manager and anyone else that the hiring manager would like to be part of the interview panel. If selected you will go back for another interview, this might be role depended.
