So I applied for an opening on their website and received an email to do a phone interview about two days later. I was excited to hear back and scheduled my phone call with the recruiter at the end of the week (using the link they emailed me). About 3 hours later I received an email saying that I was rejected for the role. I called their recruiting support line and was told "We don't show that a rejection email was sent and that we still have you on the calendar for your phone interview with the recruiter". I thought it was strange but nevertheless waited for the day of the phone interview. The Recruiter calls me at the scheduled interview time and pretty much says sorry we went with a different candidate. She was so casual about it that I felt like the whole thing was a joke. I'm super confused how any of this makes sense. I'm not really upset for being rejected for the role but feel as though their recruitment team is 100% incompetent and unprofessional. Will NEVER apply to role here again. To get invited for a phone interview then rejected promptly after shows me that candidate experience is not important to them..but hey it's walmart so I can't say I expect much any way.
