      Entretien pour Backend Engineer

      27 avr. 2020
      Employé (anonyme)
      Offre acceptée
      Expérience positive
      Entretien moyen

      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 2 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez TransferGo en avr. 2020

      Entretien

The whole process consisted of four parts (some minor difference from a regular one due to Corona lock-down):
1) Phone Screening
2) Interview with VP of Engineering and one of the Team Leads
 3) Technical task
 4) Meet the team

First part was a short call with a Talent Acquisition just to know each other a bit: like what are expectations, a reason to look for a new job etc.

Second part was an interview between the VP of Engineering, a Team Lead and myself.
The first part was to introduce myself shortly and to ask questions about the company and the role.
The second part of the interview was a system design. A random topic I did not met before (they asked if I did not met the topic before) to check for a system design/engineering thinking, some algorithm knowledge etc.
The whole interview was very open and friendly with a lot of opportunities to ask about anything I was interested in.
I've felt that the interviewees were both strong technically and soft-skill wise and left a very good impression as a potential colleagues.
Third part for me was a home task which was again more about designing and choosing technologies without coding. The result was a several questions to answer like “how would you solve problem A” or “how would you mitigate risk B”.
The last part was a free form call with the team-members. We just talked about random stuff: personal experience, corona situation, team structure and company in general.
I liked the team, since I've been hired I think they liked me enough as well.

      Question 2

Technical Task: a document upload service is needed. Customer should be capable to upload a photo of a document. There were several requirements and restrictions like: - Service should auto-label it with a help from AWS Rekognition. - Service should run with Docker and be scalable. Result: answer to questions like how to ensure access restrictions or how to solve files sharing problem between docker containers.

      Entretien difficile

      Candidature

J'ai postulé via un recruteur. Le processus a pris 4 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez TransferGo (Kaunas) en févr. 2020

      Entretien

The whole process consisted of four parts: 1) Phone Screening 2) Interview with VP of Engineering and one of the Team Leads 3) Home task 4) Trial Day First there was a short call with the recruiter. Afterward, we had interview between the VP of Engineering, a Team Lead and myself; so technical people. During the interview, I was asked my story. What was my career journey and most importantly: what are the projects that I've worked on. The second part of the interview was system design. Mind you, I've never done a system design interview before which was a bit confusing but also exciting as well. I think I've performed okay; definitely not the best of my performance. The whole interview you had lots of opportunities to ask about anything you're interested in; so do that. I've felt that the interviewees were both strong technically and soft-skill wise, which is always something that you're looking for in a company. After some time, I was given a home task; which wasn't hard by any means but if you wanted to do it and describe it properly, then it takes a while. If you've come to this part then it means that you are technically sound! The last part is a trial day but in my case, due to quarantine, it was a call with the team-members. We just talked about random stuff: personal stuff, gaming, team structure or company in general. Had a great talk; I liked the team, since I've been hired I think they liked me enough as well. Afterward, you just have to wait for an offer! Personally, the whole hiring process was probably the most complicated one that I've ever had but it was a fun one.
