If they picked you for a phone screen, you'll receive a call or email to call them depending on your preferences. Be aware the next time you are on the phone with them that will be the phone screen. The email asks you to schedule one but that's a trick. I liked the mate who I screened with. He was younger sounding but I definitely vibed with him.
At the end he set me up with an in person interview a week later. On the day of, I had the interview with two male mates at a table outside the store. Here's where the negative part comes in.
The older man STARTS the interview by judging me about my education by asking me when I got my degree, if I'm going to get a related job to it, and what I've been doing since getting it (which was quite a few years ago) even though I submitted my resume telling him all this.
If he wanted to privately judge me for that I wouldn't mind but saying this to my face at the start of an interview was ridiculously rude.
The actual questions they ask you are easy especially if you prepare and I had a good answer for every one of them. I smiled, made eye contact with both, cracked a joke they both laughed at and I still got rejected. I noticed the store I applied to was still taking apps as of today so it's not a matter of the spots being filled.
I honestly didn't say or do anything that would disqualify me and I think Mr. Education turned me down because he didn't like that I wasn't doing something with my degree - something that shouldn't matter when applying to work at a supermarket like HE was.
I heard not every store does things the same but just be warned some mates can be very picky about who they approve. You can do everything right but if one of them doesn't like you for some personal reason it's not happening. Thanks if you're still reading.

1 phone call, two in person, never got the job. Short and simple interview, the third one was long but it was just the employee yapping about the job and what they do. Pretty lame considering they already knew they weren’t going to hire me. Said they were gonna call me and never did. Just call and say that you don’t wanna hire me and move on, how hard is that?

Applications in my area are accepted in-person and online. I'd applied online.
There were two interviews: one with two mates (supervisors) and one with the captain (store manager).
Communication was excellent; I was not left waiting long, though I do not recall exact timeframes.
I am not sure how to speak to interview difficulty. Compared to what? Two interviews is 'easy' compared to other processes I have gone through. The care going into the decision was just as careful though, it seems to me. So, 'difficult'. Questions were largely in the behavioral category, and it helped to have a few examples in mind. So, 'average'.

Question 1
Of course, they wanted to see how I'd handled various challenges in the past. While both interviews wanted to feel out if I (and my availability) would be a good fit, they were also intentional about prompting me to think about if they would be a good fit for me.
I do not remember the exact questions asked.
