Entretien
Not sure if the proverbial right hand knows what the left hand is doing in Orrville. Applied for a Mkt position. Was contacted by HR and told I had a phone interview with the hiring VP. We set up a day and time for a call. No one called. Called HR back recieved voice mail. In a follow-up call was told the hiring VP was in a meeting, sorry, will get back to you with availablity. Next week no response from HR, I called and was told they did not have the hiring managers availability--HMM!. Next week receive an email from HR that availability was unknown, fill out our a candidate profile. Completed the profile, sent a note, no response. Sent an email to HR the next week asking for a status. Three weeks later I receive a form email that I am not a match.
I have heard the process is very tedious at Smucker, but this experience was IMO unprofessional. You would expect to be treated with higher respect from a company with its reputation.

Entretien
It was treated much more as a conversation than a traditional behavioral interview. While they did get to behavioral questions, culture is such an important aspect of working at the JMS company, so that was clearly the highlight of the interview.

If you get a non-entry level position interview with Smucker’s it’s almost entirely about fit. Look who you are interviewing with online, if they are a newer to Smucker’s they will want to know what your skills, accomplishments, etc. are. If they have been there for more than a few years they want to know fit. In Smucker world this is not saying “I” accomplished this or that, but “we”. They swarm on any sense of arrogance (which is what you typically do in an interview). This is a blessing and a curse of how the culture works. There is a major threat level from outsiders, so it’s mostly about conforming versus bringing great things to the table.

Entretien
I went through the university recruitment process and had my interview the day after the career fair, was very swift but happily efficient. Awesome people across the company, the culture definitely shows!
