The interview process was very easy. The first was a simple phone interview where they asked basic questions, such as my internship experience and any other PR experience I might have. They asked me why they thought they should hire me and who some of my favorite bloggers were. The next step was to write a pitch letter. About a week later, I found out I got the internship. I believe the interview process took total 10 days.

Check their blog for deadlines on when to apply to their internships. I sent my resume and cover letter to the internship coordinator (also the office manager) and she immediately responded saying she would add it to the applications. A couple weeks later I was contacted for an interview. I had one very easy group phone interview and heard back a few days later with an offer. I also had to complete a writing test.
*To make the most out of your internship at Skirt PR, always email who you report to asking what you can do to help. Reach out to other associates. The office is a very quiet atmosphere but everyone is super friendly and willing to help. Suggestion: ask if you can sit in on conference calls/meetings.
If you are a recent grad hoping to get hired after the internship, don't get your hopes up. Skirt is a very small company and someone has to basically quit in order for someone else to get hired. Most people that work here started out as intern but interned here longer than the 3 month period.
Overall a positive experience!

I turned in a cover letter, resume and writing sample and once accepted I was called to the office for an in-person interview. I taken to the conference room and interviewed by 2 women while the executive assistant took notes. It was pretty casual and easy. No trick questions. I was then instructed to take a writing test at home - usually they have you take the test at the office but at the time of my interview there were no computers available. The writing test was fairly easy if you've had experience writing pitches and know the AP style rules.
