Throughout the entire interview process, the hiring manager was extremely disengaged, rude, and unhelpful - which gave me a bad first impression of the company culture. It seemed like they were trying to give me a 'stress test' more than an interview. I was brought in for a 1:1 with the hiring manager, then a whiteboarding session with a group. In a typical whiteboard session the interviewers should be there to answer questions, define the scope, and observe your process without a biased solution. But in my session at Reddit, the interviewers were very unhelpful, unfriendly, and had a predetermined solution in mind that they expected you to come to (with complete disregard for my own thought process, as they were constantly pushing me towards an alternative solution). I'm glad I didn't move on - I would hate to work under this type of management.

1st phone screen was directly with the head of design. Mostly a casual chat and some lecture about design at Reddit. 2nd interview was a whiteboarding exercise. I think I was denied because my final solution did not agree with the economic and political views of the company. I suggested that public goods should be free.
