A truly candidate-first interview process and experience. Every step was focused on making sure the candidate was well informed, prepared, and was provided full transparency into expectations. This was a unique interview process compared to most technology jobs I applied for; where in most cases the interviews serve to inform the company on the candidates suitability for the role. However, at Assurance I felt as though it was an even playing field and encouraged to ask questions to find a culture and company fit just as much as they were trying to find a fit for the position.

Very lengthy process. 30 min recruiter call, 30 min call with a director, a take home case study that requires around 6 hours to complete, then followed by a series of 1:1s with a group of people this role you will be interacting with, including the hiring manager. The case study was poorly constructed, and they refuse to provide clear answers to the clarifying questions. It was also extremely unfair for them to ask candidates to put in so much free work and take days off from their current job to interview with them. During the series of 1:1 interviews, several interviewers cut me off when I was talking to ask questions, which seems very rude and left a bad taste in my mouth. After spending so long interviewing with them, the HR person didn't provide a timeline for when they will make a decision. I was eventually told that they gave the job to someone else. I guess the feeling was mutual. I wouldn't have wanted to work with most of the people I interviewed with anyway.
