Process was very straightforward and everyone from the team was very communicative. It seemed like everyone enjoyed working at the company and were happy to fresh ideas from candidates. 1. Call with recruiter 2. Video interview with hiring manager 3. Take home assignment + 45 minute presentation of case to a panel of 5-6 people 4. 1:1s with 5 stakeholders (design, product, engineering and some other team members) Lots of behavioral questions, some product cases, technical questions, and strategy questions. Some trick questions.

I applied on their site and a recruiter responded a few weeks later to set up an initial phone call. This recruiter ended up rescheduling our phone call 4 times and delayed the process about 3 weeks. Multiple times because she said she wasn’t feeling well and then another time because she was running late from an appointment. Also she was communicating with me through text message which I thought was very strange. After we finally were able to connect for the phone screening, she said she’d start scheduling round one interviews within the next few days. However, 2 days later I got a templated email that this position had been filled. I was extremely disappointed in the entire process and don’t think I’d want to apply again in the future.

Straight forward interview experience. Recruiter and hiring manager were very communicative and clear about what to expect in each round. I am very impressed especially by how much each helped prepare me for each round of the interview. By far, the best experience and guidance I have had compared to any other interview experience. 1. Call with recruiter. 2. Call with hiring manager. 3. Take home assignment and present to panel of stakeholders. 4. Final round with 1:1's with each stakeholder.

The interview consisted of several rounds, including a phone and onsite. Overall, I was praised and felt pretty positive after the entire process. I was choosing between multiple offers at the time and the interviewer kept me hanging for over a month, saying that they still hadn't made the decision, which I do not appreciate.

Question 1
Why OpenTable? Why product management? How would you solve this user problem?
Question 2

Interview Process: Recruiter (Phone Call) - Hiring Manager (Phone Call) - Product Manager from the Hiring Manager's Team (Phone Call) - Onsite - Offer I did not make it past the hiring manager stage. The recruiter and hiring manager asked the standard product manager interview questions. The job interview experience was overall okay.

I applied online and was contacted via email to schedule an initial phone screen. Phone screen went well, and I was contacted within a few days again to schedule a phone interview with the hiring manager. I emailed back my preferred times and never received a response. I emailed again 5 days later and still never got a response. Very strange experience overall.

Question 1
Phone screen was mostly questions about my background and experience. The recruiter was very nice and I thought it went well.

I had a great experience interviewing with a very organized team and hiring manager. After a phone screen I was called in for two series of 4 hour interviews, meeting about 9 people in total. Along with making sure that I had the skills required for the position, the team was mainly assessing my personality and possible fit within a group. If you are going to be applying for a position at OpenTable, particularly for a Product Manager position, be sure you are very familiar with the product and be ready to suggest features or improvements to the services they provide. While an offer was expected, I was unfortunately unable to wait and took another opportunity due to personal time constraints. I would strongly advise applying for a position with this particular team, as all members were welcoming and very knowledgeable.
