The CEO arrived to the office 30 minutes late to our scheduled interview time.
The CEO started the interview by asking me about my personal life. His line of questioning and added commentary left me feeling degraded for my having been brought up in a stable home life and ashamed for my past personal life choices. The fact that he even asked such personal questions regarding my upbringing - “what do your parents do… where did you go to high school…why didn’t you stay in private school” - was completely irrelevant, not to mention asking me what my age is and where I’m from, is absolutely illegal.
Finally, after I finished explaining my personal life, he told me that he was looking for someone with more experience, specifically someone who was head of their department and someone who knows the laws. He stated all this before allowing me the opportunity to speak to my qualifications and direct work related experience.
