I first applied in their careers portal, from which I got a response that I am not suitable. However a week later I got a call from their recruiter saying my profile is very suitable for the role and if I am looking for a job change.
It was followed by 5 different interviews, from hiring manager to director. Hiring manager first checks if the required skill set is matching with the profile and if the candidate is suitable. This interview was pretty good.
The next interview was scheduled just within a day asking my availability for 4 different interviews for four different time zones. It was managed by scheduling back to back interviews. The first interview was with Director of product management in US who seemed to question very specifically what is mentioned in the CV and makes it more interactive. It was good experience for me.
The second interview was with an offshore senior manager. It felt like he had some 20 questions written in the book which he needed to ask and close the call. One of the question he asked was what is the difference between product manager and product owner.
The third interview was with the same teams manager but from Vienna. It didn't feel he was very interested in the interview. The questions were like what was the most challenging project, and how did you overcome any failure in the project. what are different types of load balancers.
The last interview was with the Director again from US, at very late night. I was exhausted giving these interview and was expecting for them to close for the day sooner. However the last interview went on for more than an hour, where it was more like what I will be working on, with whom I will be working on and what will be my role. I wouldn't say it was an interview but an interaction before joining any organization.
After all the interviews were completed, there was a dead silence and I never heard back from them. Very unprofessional and no courtesy to give the feedback to the candidate who attended so many interviews in one single day based on their convenient timings. Upon asking the recruiter they says they don't have any connect with HR and if I need any update I should get in touch with the HR. How the hell am I supposed to get HR info at first place ?
Moreover what I understood from the discussions is that they were more looking for a technical product manager than a product owner. So all the time I spent on interviews was wasted just because they are not clear on the job description since day one.
