I applied online. HR reached out about one week after and we scheduled the first call. Pretty straightforward and very informative as to why the role was open, the expansion of the function, and plans for the future.
After another week, they scheduled the hiring manager virtual interview. We had a great conversation and we were able to speak at length during the 1 hour we were scheduled for.
The week after, I got an email to select a time to come in to meet with the president and hiring manager. The HR person sent times, which I thought were settled, but after selecting a time and following up 3 times I get a reply that they’re still waiting to confirm times with the team. That didn’t work out so we scheduled for 2 weeks out.
It was supposed to be with the hiring manager and the president of the region so I was scheduled for 1.5 hours. Waited 15-20 mins for the president to get me — apparently his assistant was not in that day. Was told that the hiring manager was on vacation so she couldn’t meet me that day. How do you not know who’s in and who isn’t?
Our second chat was rescheduled for later in the week and virtually. Spoke for 15 mins, 3 questions, and was told I’d hear back after the team got together.
Reached out the following week and was told the team was not ready to make a decision. Two weeks after I get an automatic rejection email and saw the job reposted that same day.
The lack of transparency was the worst part. Felt like I was being strung along the entire time. But I’m glad they showed their true selves now. Definitely not a company or team I’d like to work with.
