I was first contacted for a phone interview with the senior research assistant and then was asked to come into the facility for an in-person interview with the lead physician on the study. The doctor who interviewed me seemed to be a very serious guy, and asked mainly general questions.

What have you done over the past few summers to gain experience in the field?
Two rounds. One with the PI and the other with the current Research Assistant. Just basic interview questions and process to go over resume details. However I think this process can be varied by departments.

They reached out via email to schedule interview over zoom. The interview process was pretty standard, They described the work environment and asked about my experience, what I am looking for and my plans for the future.

The interview was conducted via Microsoft Teams with multiple team members. There were a few technical questions, but the majority of the time spent was a conversation about my past experiences and their ongoing work.
