3 video/phone interviews about 30-45 minutes each. First call with recruiter. Second with hiring manager. Third was a panel. Simple interview process. Somewhat inflexible with timeframe of when they can do an interview but not unreasonable. Had to sneak out of work to do all these interviews. After all the interviews they said I would hear back in a week and told me verbatim, “we’re not the type of people to string you along.” A week goes by with no answer so I politely reached out asking for an update and was told about a day later that there was no update yet. Another week goes by and I reach out again and was told about a day later there was no update. Another week goes by with no update and I again reach out and receive a response a day later that there is no update. So anyway this goes on for about 4-5weeks until I finally get a call and am told that the position has been filled internally. I’m not upset about not getting the job, it is what it is. What I do find unethical and extremely unprofessional is to string people along for such a long period of time. Just tell people you’re hiring internally and don’t waste all our time with the interview process and getting someone’s hopes up. Or better yet, don’t even post the job for your optics if you have no intention of hiring someone
