I got a call from the hiring manager who wanted to interview me on the spot - which I declined since I was driving. He then asked if I could speak with a lead for a few minutes and then schedule an interview for later - which I agreed. The manager asked me to discuss my technical background and as I started discussing the lead got impatient and said "All this APIs in your resume - where are you in all these APIs" - verbatim. She also said "just because they are easy you don't use REST APIs " - not sure why I needed to be told that. They seem to assume your resume is fake and they will shoot you first and ask questions later. Despite the rudeness, I decided to see where the process led. The manager then said he wanted to set up an interview the next morning. I already had a previously scheduled interview the next morning so I asked if we could do it later or on another day at which point he got offended and said that I should go ahead with the other company!!

The interviewer was looking for a full-stack developer, but they shortlisted me despite my experience being only in frontend development. He asked some questions about backend, then abruptly said they were looking for someone with both frontend and backend experience, and ended the call. If that was the requirement, they shouldn't have shortlisted me for the interview in the first place. Overall a very unprofessional experience
