      Candidature

J'ai postulé en ligne. Le processus a pris 3 semaines. J'ai passé un entretien chez Ingram Micro en sept. 2023

      Entretien

Undoubtedly the most chaotic disorganised hiring process I've ever been through. I had a first screening call with HR, it lasted 10 minutes max and I was told they would reach out in case the hiring manager wanted to proceed with me. After one week, I received a call stating this was the case and scheduling a meeting over teams. I specifically asked the HR rep if I should prepare something for the interview and was told no. On the agreed date, I presented myself to the interviewer, and right after I was done introducing myself, they said "ok, you can start sharing your screen now". Apparently this was a call where I was supposed to present a case study from my portfolio, which I wasn't told beforehand. I scrambled to present one of my case studies and was able to pull through. I've apologised to the hiring manager for the confusion, but said I wasn't aware I was to present anything. The call was cut at exactly 30min mark, when I was mid sentence answering one of their questions because the hiring manager had another meeting to attend. I felt the process was going horribly and I wasn’t going to go to the next stage, but the next week the HR rep called me again and said the hiring manager was impressed with my work and wanted to move me forward to the next stage. They said this next interview was a presentation of my portfolio. I thought to myself this was a do-over interview, since my last presentation was really improvised, an agreed to it. Then the HR rep sent me an email with the teams invite, and in this email he apologised, but said there was a confusion on his side, and in the next stage I was to present a solution for a case study they were sending me. The brief said I was to spend 5h solving the case study and “the way you approach the problem is more important than the end result”, which was proven to be false. I worked on the assignment and then presented it to the hiring managers. Neither of them asked much about the process I followed, choosing to focus instead on the presented solution. They were frustrated I couldn’t resolve all the issues in the brief, even though the brief specifically said they weren’t expecting more than 5h of dedication, and obviously not much can be done on this timeframe. The brief felt misguiding and meant to induce the candidate to error, if they expect a completely done, perfect solution. The final straw is never receiving any feedback from them, even though I’ve written thank you emails for the managers and HR rep, and asked for follow up one week later. The only way I know I wasn’t approved for the position is because it was reopened on LinkedIn one week later. No wonder they can’t hire anyone for the job. Steer clear from this company.
