I applied for the Quality Assurance Manager position at Ingenico Sydney office in Australia on June 2023. My encounter with the company's recruitment process left me thoroughly disappointed. What initially seemed like a promising opportunity turned into a disheartening experience that exposed the organisation's lack of respect for candidates and their time. After submitting my application, a recruiter based in Singapore reached out to me via email. The initial communication included a request for various pieces of information, such as my current salary, notice period, expected salary, years of experience in Quality Assurance/Software testing, defect management using tools like Quality Centre and JIRA, EFTPOS and payment applications testing, and familiarity with EMV and scheme testing (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Eftpos). Having provided the requested information, I was later contacted by the recruiter to arrange an interview with the hiring manager at Ingenico's Sydney office. The interview went reasonably well, although a lingering sense of scepticism began to set in during our conversation. It appeared as if the hiring manager was merely going through the motions, interviewing with no genuine intention of considering me as a candidate. What followed further exacerbated my disappointment. I never received any response after the interview from recruiter or hiring manager. I felt completely ghosted, as if the time and effort I invested in the interview process meant nothing to them. To make matters worse, I later learned from a reliable source that the hiring manager had already pre-determined the hiring of an acquaintance for the position. This revelation shattered any remaining faith I had in the legitimacy of the entire recruitment process. It's disheartening to think that Ingenico would post job advertisements, attracting hundreds of applicants, when the decision had already been made to hire someone with a personal connection to the hiring manager. This experience has left me with a sour impression of Ingenico's recruitment practices. It's clear that, at least in this instance, transparency, fairness, and respect for candidates were lacking. The prevalence of nepotism and cronyism within the organisation casts a shadow over its commitment to a fair and equitable hiring process.

Email from internal recruiter asking for information and then radio silence. Not even the decency to respond or provide a rejection email. Even after follow-up continued to be ghosted. If this a reflection of what life is like at Ingenico, then I am glad I didn't end up here.

La atención brindada es muy buena , excelente ambiente generado en la planta se ve que es bueno, buenas instalaciones . Son muy directos en la entrevista, no te mantienen con rodeos , te explican desde el primer instante que es lo que buscan en el puesto solicitado y que actividades se deben realizar

J'ai passée trois étapes de recrutement: Le premier étape était un appel téléphonique avec le manager de ressources humaines. Le deuxième entretien était en visio avec Head of marketing en anglais. Le troisième qui est le dernier était en visio avec les directeurs en français.

Initial screening interview with recruiter. Did not go into too much details just the usual HR screening questions. The following step was an interview with the Hiring Manager, pretty straightforward, more in depth discussions and questions about the role and its expectations. Was told they will come back with feedback and next steps (which should be a casual discussion with the regional team members). Sent a follow up, never got an answer. Waited for a few weeks, still nothing after more then a month.
