The interview process was simple and easy - a call with a recruiter where they ask about your background and motivation. The second and final round was with two different CS Team Leads, going more in-depth about the previous experience, ability to work in a team, and some basic technical stuff.

The first interview is with a recruiter. My recruiter was really pleasant and friendly. Then you are sent an English test to do online. If you pass this stage, a recruiter calls you to schedule an online interview via Teams with the hiring manager.

A friend of mine have been working in Hyperoptic and told me good things about the work. He was recruited by someone who doesn't work there anymore due to the internal conflicts with other higher-ups. He said the recruitment process was great. However, its horrible right now;
I have applied for this position twice at different times through a referral. I have applied during summer and I was first contacted at december. No respect for the applicant since I was expecting a call from them for months because thats what I have been told by people in the company.
First interviewer was a liar. She told me to not make any plans for the holidays next week because she assured that I will be chosen 99%. Then I heard later on from people in the company, she went and hired people with very bad knowledge of work and horrible English skills. After a short research, it turned out to be that those people are friends of a person in the company who she was most close with. She also mentioned to another worker I know that she didn't like my voice. Discrimination at its finest.
Oh and during the interview, some random dude comes in with a cake and offer it to her. Seriously.. What's up with this person? Yes, she recruited his referrals only.
This company seems to fall for liars in most positions. If you want to work here, lie about your experience in your resume. Lie about yourself at interview.. They keep hiring new people and 9 out of 10 turns out to be a useless worker. Managers don't care though.
I really wanted to join Hyperoptic and dedicate my career here. Sadly, I have been discriminated and been lied to. It is also sad to see them hire slackers and liars just because of nationalism, friends-favor deals and simply be a power hungry individual.
In their job ad, they underline the fact that English is mandatory in the offices yet the recruiters discriminate someone who doesn't talk Serbian.
I don't know about their UK offices or the people in there. My experience is from their foreign offices.
I am not even going to talk about my second application I have made with them back in 2015 summer, 1 year after my first try. Different HR people, similar discrimination.
