Applied online for position in Tampa, FL. 2 recruiters reached out to me for the same position. I only responded to one. Recruiter called and then emailed a list of questions for pre-screen. Then we scheduled a phone interview. The recruiter called 30 minutes late and I couldn’t answer. He left a voicemail stating he had a rough morning and had to rush back home. We rescheduled for a time later in the day. He called 5 minutes late. There was so much noise in the background! Then I heard someone banging on a door. After that he placed me on hold for 3 or 4 minutes. After returning, I could hear sirens blaring as if it was a fire alarm. We started speaking and I could tell he was unprepared. I could tell he was literally reading the job description from the website. He also said he didn’t know how a new time off program at the company called DTO worked. He had long pauses (like 15-second-Long pauses) as he was trying to think of what to say. He repeated the same thing numerous times. Honestly, after that I stopped taking the interview seriously and stopped paying attention to what he was saying. I literally was just sitting there surfing the web on my computer as he was talking. He asked 2 questions and when I explained my scenario he asked multiple times could I repeat what I said. He said he’s new, so that explains a lot. After re explaining twice, I just started answering his questions as if I were talking to a toddler. He had no idea how operations and fulfillment centers work. He was clueless about standard work procedures (he asked me 3 times what was standard work), 6S, KPIs. He didn’t even know if the building in Tampa had Senior operations managers and if they did how many and if there was a site lead or general manager. It was agonizing but I stuck it out to not be rude. 2 hours later after the call I received an email stating I was not selected. Which I am highly grateful for! I also received a personal email from the recruiter stating I could not move forward because of language barrier and I should apply for other positions. I worked at Amazon prior and he said they really want top Amazon talent. Well, if they want top talent, they need to have stronger, more professional recruiters that can attract and sustain that talent and truly sell their company. The interview was so bad, I literally couldn't do anything but laugh afterwards because it was such an agonizing and unprecedented experience! *All interview questions listed below were in the email pre-screen.
