Overall the process was pretty typical for an investment bank. The technical questions were a bit harder than some of the bulge brackets but overall pretty straightforward. Evercore interviews a lot of people for very few positions so the competition is steep.

Multiple stages - very technical, heavy on M&A math, paper LBO. Opened with 30 second pitch, 2-3 behavioral questions, 10 to 15 min technicals and left a few minutes for Q&A.
Applied for a lateral Associate position. Had interviews with almost every member of the team. Also met with another MD outside the team. Mostly behavioral. They wanted to understand my motivation for joining the team.
