It saddens us to hear that your experience with us caused you to believe that we would ever take advantage of the time and energies the candidates invest in our hiring process.
We aim to assess candidates under different aspects throughout the different stages in place.
Since the time of your interview, we have adjusted the process, extending the time dedicated to the first phone interview to allow comprehensive answers to any possible questions the candidates would have about the structure of our hiring process, and the rational behind.
The assignments are still in place, as they are a key step in evaluating technical proficiency. Candidates are presented with real cases, but in no way related to Empatica. It would be silly for the team to use that work in any way other than to evaluate the candidate's thinking and sophistication. They're also useful to filter out the many candidates who are just window shopping for new roles with limited seriousness. Interestingly, we have seen that the most talented candidates really appreciate the challenge.
