I applied online and was called to attend an in-store interview. The Assistant Store Manager was extremely positive and polite - very down to earth - and made me feel very welcome. She interviewed me and made me a great starting pay offer that was several dollars over minimum wage, which was what I was used to department stores I'd previously worked at payed. She offered me two positions, and since it was near the busy holiday season, one of the two was only $1 less and just a little less competitive on the sales floor so that i could get to know the store. After a few months, I was promoted and moved to the sales floor.
