Interviewed for a QA Engineer contractor position through Morgan McKinley.
The interview process consisted of two rounds. The first round was a technical and HR discussion with the Dublin team, and the second round was a live coding interview with team members based in Canada. The interviewers were professional, and the technical discussions were relevant to the role.
After successfully completing both rounds, I was informed by phone and email that I had been selected and received an offer. An onboarding process was initiated shortly afterwards, including discussions around contractor setup and compliance requirements.
However, after approximately two weeks of waiting for a confirmed start date, I was informed that the role had been moved to another country and would no longer be available.
While I appreciate the time invested by the interviewers and recruiter throughout the process, it was disappointing to reach the offer and onboarding stage before the role was ultimately relocated. Better alignment on hiring location and approval processes before extending offers would improve the candidate experience.
Interview Questions:
* SQL joins, GROUP BY, HAVING, and subqueries
* Java coding exercises (anagram and string-related problems)
