J'ai passé un entretien chez Chemicals Incorporated
Entretien
Got a call to come in for an interview. I arrived and we got to chatting about what the company does and makes. (As this isn't available on ther website) They are a toll manufacturing company which makes batch sizes of chemicals which larger chemical companies buy from them.
The interviewer refused to speak as to what the products or compounds they made at the site... she even resisted speaking as to the chemistry types (functional groups) that were utilized on site. Funny thing is... with all their "cant speak on that due to our NDA agreements". I could get answers to all of my questions if I had just asked for TECQ permits for that site which are readily available.
Meeting ended pretty abruptly when we got to speaking about salary expectation. I asked for 90k as a chemist with over 10 years in highly technical analytical roles.....she said this is definitely higher than we were looking for. So the them want to pay substantially under market rate.
Baytown Plant manager is a moron who thinks she's important, but is clueless. This lady will likely find unqualified people to fill the chemist role below market rate.... a chemical company full of idiots is a chemical company with a high probability of disasters (leaks, spills, fires, damage to units, deaths)
If all of the information necessary for a candidate to be able to understand the role are undiscusable by the interviewees due to some NDA's the company is under then just have your interviewees sign an NDA so you can actually speak with them about the role you are interested in them for.
