I was told that many people were looking forward to meeting me, all of which needed my skills. Upon my arrival (which was highly encouraged to be 30 minutes early) I was put in isolation, waited for 40 minutes past the initial first interview time before the first person came in. Super rude, unprepared, arrogant, negative and know-it-all behavior. The other interviews went relatively better and four of them particularly were already attempting to pitch to me why I shouldn't accept the other department offers and go with them instead, how I "perfectly match" what they have been looking for. Upon those long, 4 hours of interviewing, I went home and awaited for feedback.
Later the next week, I was told that the company (RBI) was not going to go forward with my candidacy because my skills don't match any of the open positions. I was FURIOUS.
I was told several times that I was a perfect match, that my skills are in perfect alignment with what all the leads were looking for, and more importantly, they all had my resume prior to even scheduling anything with me. WHY EVEN CALL ME IF YOU DON'T HAVE ANY AVAILABLE POSITIONS??? I put in a tremendous amount of effort to show up, for 4 hours, during the 48 hour, dreadful period of final exams, which I notified the company of, who regardless requested I come for that specific time and day.
This entire experience illustrated what is horrendously wrong with the interviewing processes in place in corporate America: Discounting the applicant's time as unimportant.
