J'ai postulé en ligne. J'ai passé un entretien chez Brasseler USA (Savannah, GA)

      Entretien

Applicant - Savannah, GA: Never got a chance - not poor / desperate enough. I am a retired, late 50s gentleman with over 30 years background in IT. With time on my hands, I applied for this job to Brasseler, an entry level IT help desk person; obviously I was well aware of the meager pay, and my résumé more than explained my background. Using simple math from the dates of my education & previous employment, my age could probably also have been calculated. I also submitted reviews I have received on local social websites, just helping people out with computers in my spare time, with an almost 100% five star rating. My first response received was One telling me that the company could not afford me, and making a unilateral decision that I would not be satisfied with the salary. my retort letter, going further than I needed to about my background, fully explained my financial and personal situation, in which I was not interested in the salary as much as I was looking for something to do constructive w my time daily, and was more than willing to apply my knowledge in IT as well as in customer service/relations, to help this company out. My response received to this was a flippant email suggesting that I put some kind of “work for free“ bumper sticker on my “truck “ (!), to which I flippantly responded back to the misguided soul that I drive a Mercedes(!!) and I then hastily bid them good day. Clearly this company preferred to hire hungry people who needed the job more than the company needed them. Unfortunately that is not an atypical response that I get from some companies. But the thing that really got me ticked off with this person telling me what my motives are/should be about applying for the position, and making a judgment as to what salary I wanted, even though I clearly applied for the position knowing what the salary was that was offered.
