Four rounds: recruiter, hiring manager, technical exercise, and then a final presentation. Instructions and a mentor are provided to help prepare for the presentations which is nice. Asked to learn about the product and present it back to the experts which is nerve-wracking!

Process involved pre-screening phone interviews from a number of Box recruiters. Followed up by a phone interview by the direct hiring manager. This was followed up by a phone interview by a higher up manager. Invited to come into the local office to be interviewed through 1:1 interviews by Sales people, to SE peers, managers and hiring managers to Sales managers. Total to about 3-4 hours on 1:1 interviews. The key question that always seemed to come up was "Why Box" - and - always statements in reference to the "culture" of the company. Yet, the truth is the entire time I was thinking "Why should I join your company" - and - please tell me about your unique culture. Since, these are only words - tell me why your different and unique. Tell me about your culture. It didn't seem like anyone could give me an answer other than we "work hard". When referenced, I asked, 'you mean you work hard and play hard,' - I was met with - yea, sort of. Please don't forget, you're also recruiting me. You didn't sell me. What is it about Box that would entice me to consider this position. Coming from the same industry a direct competitor and meeting with the same companies, I was very surprised about the elitist attitude of the hiring process. I thought it was very odd that these positions seem to be posted and never get filled.
