Initial phone screen interview with their in-house HR/recruiter setup days in advance for AM of 5/4/21. 11 minutes before the interview call I get an email from him saying "the position is now filled and closed." So I get to prepare for the call and expend my time which is valuable and they simply cancel the interview call at the very last minute with this lame excuse. Yes, they could have had offers out to people for the role and were just waiting for a person to start or accept their offer. But, this is no way to treat future candidates regardless of the real reason for the last minute call cancellation. It's a hiring tactic that I find particularly unprofessional.
