I applied in mid October (10/11) and heard back from the Recruiting team at the beginning of November (11/06). I had a phone screen with the recruiter on 11/08 and then another phone interview on 11/09 with the hiring manager. I was scheduled for an in-person interview the following Monday (11/13) with 4 members of the team which lasted three hours.
Overall the experience was extremely pleasant. The recruiting team stuck to their timelines and always gave me timely updates along the way. Also it was such a nice touch that Ancestry gives candidates a welcome gift when they come in for an interview!

I had 3 interviews for two separate positions in the same department. I’d assume six interviews should pretty promising for a candidate… then they closed both positions. I know someone else that had the same thing happen to them for a different department.

Question 1
Pretty standard interview questions. Although they did get way more granular about my experience with the systems they use. I had experience with Tableau and Salesforce marketing cloud which are the two main ones they were concerned about.

I’m a 15 year+ veteran who interviewed for a senior role. As a consumer and customer, I love Ancestry! But the experience was one of the most manipulative and obscure experiences I’ve ever had. I do think their CMO is a nut job! I saw he recently left so that is encouraging and I hope they can find someone who has a higher moral compass and a high degree of professionalism.
