I recently interviewed at Amex for a UX researcher role. Seems like their UX research practices are ten years behind many leading companies. I was extremely shocked when one UXR on the team told me that they don't welcome stakeholders to be involved in the research process because they're gonna screw things up. One of the UX researchers was also rude and never looked directly at me. The interview questions themselves were not difficult though.

The interview process was quick - happening over a month or so. A phone screen and two interviews if I remember, but plus reference calls. The line of question was intense, so be prepared to communicate effectively. Overall though, everyone was very friendly.

Phone Screener with HR, followed by a video interview with line manager, followed by final-round interview in-person with line manager.
I was invited to, and attended, a final round interview where I was told I was one of three candidates being seen and to expect an outcome within 7 days. Two weeks later I followed up with an email and was told a final decision had not been made. It's now been 2 months since my final round interview and I've had no communications from anyone at Amex as to their final decision. In that time, I accepted a different offer and started the job. Incredibly disappointed with the experience from Amex and their lack of care towards unsuccessful candidates who reached the final stage of the process.
