I received an email from the hiring department stating they were impressed with my profile and would like to set up an interview with me. The first round was an online Hacker Rank based coding test. The area tested on was digital logic design, Verilog HDL and FPGA. There were 28 questions and the duration was 60 minutes.

Applied online, got an email to take an online "take home test" that was pretty standard, then had a phone screen and a technical phone interview. Online quiz was focused on Verilog and the like, pretty basic stuff that would've been included in your first digital design course. The phone screen was just an overview of the company and the opportunity to ask questions.
The phone interview was pretty terrible. The interviewer asked basic questions about resume and then some technical questions in the same vein of the online test, but they were vague enough that every time I answered something and asked if they wanted more detail, I'd always get a "nah, it's okay." As if there was even a point to the conversation. They either didn't like my resume enough to continue with the process or already decided my test results weren't good enough.
Oh, and definitely don't apply if you have a foreign-sounding name. Despite repeatedly stating that I was born and raised in the US, I received comments like "wow your English is so good", "I can't even tell if you have an accent" and "I expected to struggle a lot more with understanding you". He had the thought to note that he probably shouldn't be saying these things but continued to do so anyway. The interviewer sounded nice enough otherwise, but is undoubtedly socially sheltered and prejudiced at best.
