Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Associate Buyer/Planner to join our team at Legend Biotech. The Associate Buyer/Planner will be part of the Manufacturing Technical Operations team responsible for the material planning within the end-to-end Supply Chain team for the production of a personalized cell therapy and supporting areas to support both clinical and commercial requirements in a sterile cGMP environment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Major Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and components to ensure optimal levels for production while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
- Utilize MRP system (SAP) to generate accurate material requirements based on production schedules and re-order points, ensuring timely procurement and availability of materials
- Creation of Purchase Orders towards our suppliers to ensure timely delivery and availability of materials
- Collaborate with suppliers to monitor lead times and assist in resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or quantity discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, by maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to quality standards in material management processes.
- Work closely with various departments including manufacturing operations, production scheduling, MS&T, quality assurance, warehousing and procurement to coordinate activities and resolve any issues affecting material availability or production schedules.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in material planning and procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall supply chain performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material planning and inventory management to track performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
Education:
- At minimum a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business/Engineering, or related field
Experience:
- First experience (1-2 years) in material planning is required, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry
Capabilities, Knowledge, and skills:
- Strong analytical and data entry skills
- Thorough, accurate and precise with quality of deliverables on top of the mind
- Technologically savvy with the ability to quickly adopt new systems and processes
- Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables and Advanced Analytics), Word, Visio, and exposure to ERP and other financial accounting systems, preferably SAP
- Proficient in Business Intelligence software to create and maintain dashboards
- Ability to work independently and successfully, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, integrate cross-functional issues and balance competing priorities effectively. Must be able to manage shifting priorities to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic, growing environment
- Strength in communicating and working effectively with broad stakeholders in various scientific/technical/business disciplines
- Strong influencing capabilities with an ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and across different functions
- Ability to promote a mindset of process oriented thinking, continuous improvement, problem solving
- Prior experience with Procurement Operations, Finance or Accounting Principles is highly desirable
