    Avantages

    Pay and Benefits along with time off.

    Inconvénients

    Really bad culture for employees and tremendous amount of micromanagement by managers and senior leadership.
    Employees are not promoted or compensated as promised and can be very political.
    Bad work/life balance since employees are overworked and burned out due to the long hours and lack of work force since so many people are quitting or moving into different departments.
    Employees are being hired and then quitting at a high rate due to poor leadership and horrible culture. Employees are very unhappy and are leaving the organization for better opportunities with other employers.
    Senior leadership does not show any type of gratification for their employees and only focuses on what is "not being done right" instead of acknowledging all the positive things that have been accomplished.
    Very little training and no type of advancement since you have to be in the same role for 5 years before you can get a promotion.

    Lot of retirements so a lot of room to grow specially young individuals

    Inconvénients

    Slow moving company, not very cutting edge

    Management should help others grow and treat everyone equally. Sad to see such a great company with such poor management in billing that only favors a few people and overlooks others hardwork.

    Avantages

    The people were great here, lots of collaboration and fantastic training.

    Inconvénients

    Everything took forever to get accomplished as there was a long list of hoops to jump through for any meaningful project. The keep reducing their employee count and backfilling with contracted workers when they backfill at all.

    Avantages

    Decent salary, ok benefits. Great work life balance, work hours flexible

    Inconvénients

    I have worked at a number of Fortune 500 firms. This one was the most political. It is not what you know but who you know. If you did not work in a power plant or in the field your advancement will be limited. It is an "old boys club". They talk about diversity and inclusion and do not practice it. On the power generation side each power plant is like a kingdom. Do not dare challenge the status quo. Power Generation is very behind the times in how work is accomplished and how they manage staff. They are also downsizing more experienced staff to save costs. HR seems to go along with this. Outright lies were put on my end of year review and did nothing when evidence was provided to prove the lies false.

    CEO is great and has done his best to increase share-holder value and improve customer service. Especially on the Power Generation side, the management needs improvement on improving their operation and allowing all members of their staff to use their skills. They need to respect the skills of all employees and allow them opportunities to use those skills.

    Inconvénients

    lack of follow through by management on safety issues.

    Avantages

    People generally nice to work with; Enough work but not over-stressed

    Inconvénients

    20 years ago management brought beer to the job site ; now they've gone over-board the other way and are extremely rigid. Will try to fire people for minor rule violations that would not be a big deal at most companies.

    stop being so conservative and think outside your box; Just because you are a utility is no reason not be creative. Upper management is too opaque. No plan to grow the business.
