    Avantages

    Work in your own style and select people to work with. You can be your own boss and don't need to wear formal clothing.

    Inconvénients

    Lack of team learning opportunities, because most of the time you're working remotely for yourself and this limits you to work and learn for other team members

    Avantages

    High growth company with lots of opportunities, product changing the way people hire, great time to get in with a company that has a lot to offer. Ability to hit quota is achievable.

    Inconvénients

    Growing pains of scaling fast, you must be able to adapt to changes of a company going through rapid growth

    Avantages

    Everything is clear. You get what you've done for hourly jobs. Many Java jobs on the market. Flexible affiliate program, you can run your own business. Recently they added many jobs with 10% fee, after 10k$ you pay only 5% fee. I earned pretty much during last 10 years. Support is really cool, they helped me with all issues that I encountered. Upwork is the best marketplace for all people who could earn money around the world

    Inconvénients

    Upwork is a bit unstable last 2-3 years. Yes, their decision to merge Elance and odesk was disputable a bit, but I think the company will be better soon. Many people say that upwork will go down till the end of 2016, but they were wrong, hehe. Also I think there should be less people with low-level skills and high demands there.

    Conseils à la direction

    Try to attract more developers to your site and make them be more separated by categories. Top Rated program is good, but I think there should be a bit of toptal's approach over there.

    Avantages

    Lots of opportunities and lots of chance for growth. Very diverse client base as you get to see a lot of people and you can also select different types of jobs.

    Inconvénients

    Contract job and clients may refuse to answer you even after you enquired repeatedly. Also, you need to be fast in applying.

    Ambience is good, but management is very bad.

    Inconvénients

    1, Full pressure to employee
    2. The management is abusive to its employer
    3, They even send emails at night for urgent fixes, so very bad work life balance
    4. No salary hikes

    Avantages

    Easy to use web search facilities, features many good looking opportunities and updated very frequently.

    Inconvénients

    I have had my profile rejected for work twice, and the reason given - lack of experience/relevant skills although I can see several jobs listed on the site which I am able to complete without difficulty.

    Give people starting out a chance to build up work skills and experience with entry level jobs and leave the decision in hiring to the customer instead of refusing profiles as if you are the job being applied for.
