    Avantages

    It is a paycheck with good benefits.

    Inconvénients

    They suck the soul right out of you. Don't think that if you are a hard working employee with good work ethics and moral values that you will get ahead. All they want to do is promote and advocate for the LGBTQ employees. I am sorry but I want to puke every time I see the "Inspired by Your Pride" shirts.     Stop becoming political. Offer the same benefits to all employees but stay out of controversial opinions. Get rid of Stuart Parker and go back to someone with the morals of Joe Robles. He is missed very much.

    Avantages

    The compensation package is the best. I worked with USAA for almost 19 years. They pay for your education and a portion of your health benefits. They even match your retirement funds unto 8%. There are also bonuses.

    Inconvénients

    It has become a numbers based company. Training is not available to everyone as it once was. It is for the most part a call center. While there is somewhat of a consistency in the office there isn't any consistency in the field.

    Almost every role I have ever had with USAA had extensive training . Being in the field and getting promoted does not mean you have the knowledge necessary to continue the level of confidence or quality of service to provide the level of assistance the members are expecting. Training needs to be reviewed, updated and made available to everyone not just a selected group.

    Co-Workers were what kept me there as long as I was.

    Inconvénients

    Management lacks discipline, and direction. They appear to be happy to have moved into a position that doesn't require direct customer contact.

    Very mission oriented and in training they do everything possible to get you to drink the Kool-Aid. At best it is a mediocre salary for a high stress, numbers driven, watched-like-a-hawk, call center environment. 1 out of every 5 managers is decent or cares; the rest of the batch don’t honestly know how to interact or lead a team.     Listen to your front line employees. Managers and directors are not supportive on the whole. 8-10 hours on the phones all day with only 35 min lunch and two breaks is not enough. It is mentally taxing and overwhelming to meet all of the members needs, get to know them, stay compliant and put up the numbers you are required and stay within adherence. It is too much. Something has got to give. You are burning out your workforce....

    Members are the #1 priority and focus.

    Inconvénients

    "Not my job" is a widespread mentality. Some are not open to best practice or industry practice over "USAA way" of doing things.

    Look to find ways to get your employees training from the outside in. It's the USAA way mentality and way of doing things that has resulted in risk and compliance troubles.

    don't believe what they, say never go over anyone's head, you will be fired they don't tell you specifics about the changes until they happen and then no training just dropped into your lap unless you are on the team testing it,

    Keep an eye on your team managers and the bs they make up, it is going to cost you another law suit and I'm sure you don't want to pay out millions again

    Inconvénients

    As someone who has worked multiple positions with this company, it does not get better. Raises are promised at a certain pay level then drastically reduced when the time comes. Extremely stressful at most positions in claims for low pay especially compared to competing companies. A yearly bonus is given but still less than a yearly salary at competing companies.     Avantages

    There are many opportunities when you work at USAA. Through hard work, you can advance from a member service representative and become executive management. Or, you can choose from many different career paths. USAA is a stable company and it affords its employees exceptional benefits.

    Inconvénients

    The corporate culture isn't always all it's cracked up to be. Human Resources/Employee Relations is a mess. The 20-40-60 rule seems to be true after all. (If you've worked at the company for 20+ years, are older than 40 and make more than $60K, you're a target.)

    Read the comments on the Employee Job Satisfaction surveys and talk directly with Pulse representatives. Care about UCount. Pay attention to what your executive group is doing -- directors, AVPs, VPs and SVPs -- it's not always right. People who work for them know. Talk to them. And, re-examine your "Open Door Policy," because the company really doesn't have one. Either enforce the policy or get rid of it.
