Je travaille chez U.S. Cellular à plein temps (Pendant plus de 10 ans)

    Avantages

This company has always done the right thing for the customers and employees. The decisions that they make are not easy, and do their best to balance the work load.

    Inconvénients

At times, it can appear that the work load is too much, but compared to similar positions at other companies, the responsibilities are on par.

    Conseils à la direction

Give credit where credit is due. Appreciate your employees. Recognize them on a consistent basis.

    Inconvénients

Hours are all over the place and new comission structure is making hitting a nice commission payout much tougher

Company that really stands behind it's employees, good benefits, lives out the Dynamic Organization from the top down. Easy to advance if you're a good employee.

    Inconvénients

As long as you're willing to work and do the duties of your job there really isn't any cons as for as the work environment.

    Conseils à la direction

Keep up the great work, stay visible, continue to work on the struggles on regional carries have.

J'ai travaillé chez U.S. Cellular en Contrat Permanent (Pendant plus de 10 ans)

    Avantages

Great benefits and solid core principles.

    Inconvénients

Centralized and bloated middle management outside of service-coverage area. Front-line associates feel dis-empowered, unrecognized, and under-appreciated (and often under-utilized).

    Conseils à la direction

Get out and explore who is actually creating value and who is just manipulating the flow of information between the front-line and the senior leaders.

J'ai travaillé chez U.S. Cellular en Contrat Permanent

    Avantages

Good commission for a retail sales job. High performers were able to pick their schedule.

    Inconvénients

Commission changed regularly, which always resulted in sales representatives getting paid less. Company put blame of decreased sales primarily on sales associates, when most of the blame was due to a sub par product being sold for the same price as better products (i.e. Verizon 4G availability being much better than US Cellular). Weekly team meetings were typically used to scold sales representatives as opposed to training and development. It was so difficult to hit quota that sales associates rarely took vacation due to inability to sell while away from store. The store manager I worked with was incredibly incompetent, rarely at work, and disrespectful to sales associates. Though I had a bachelors degree and worked in a professional manner, I never felt I was treated as a professional by my supervisors.

    Conseils à la direction

This job could be a great stepping stone for educated, young professionals to gain sales experience. Treat sales associates with respect and set realistic sales goals based and current the market and not on past years' performance.

Je travaille chez U.S. Cellular à plein temps (Moins d'un an)

    Avantages

I love the hours, also the benefits are really nice compared to other retail jobs. The hours are the biggest pro compared to other retail locations.

    Inconvénients

The pay is not the best. Also there is constant change, and it is hard to keep up with the change. This job is perfect for someone that is single with no kids. Maybe someone fresh out of college or high school. Also the training is pretty bad.

    Conseils à la direction

Honestly the best advice I would say is stay consistent. Also work on training your employees.

Je travaille chez U.S. Cellular à plein temps (Pendant plus de 3 ans)

    Avantages

-If you put in work and make relationships you will succeed.
-many development opportunities. if your in good standing with your manager
-most of the people you work with are great and care about each other

    Inconvénients

-you have to LIVE the D.O. and its like a cult!
-Corporate politics at its best. A few run the show.
    -Overworked, always short staffed.
-Turn over rate is high! 50% or more in retail!
-the company values frontline over frontline leaders and doesn't treat leaders as well.
-no plans for the future. I asked VPs and they said they are just going with it.
    -to small to be relevent
-just launched LTE in 2017! years behind competitors
-Starting to be all about numbers, Area managers consistently say to move people out.

    Conseils à la direction

If you are not willing to change and invest in the future and continue to put bandaids on the company then just sell and get out of the business. Most of your associates are not brand advocates, the DO makes you fake it.

    Avantages

    Excellent benefits, great work-life balance

    Inconvénients

Management is hyper-critical when they can't even perform your job duties.

    Conseils à la direction

Don't hire outside managers who do not know their employees jobs but can tell them everything that they are doing with their job. Seems hypocritical to say the least.
