    Avantages

    Company car, average benefits solid fire alarm product that is backward compatible. You can upgrade an older system without replacing the field devices.

    Inconvénients

    Poor management not efficient at development of is employees, high turnover of technician and sales reps and managers, mediocre service department.

    They won't listen SimplexGrinnell hasn't performed at a high level since the early 90s.

    Avantages

    Their Fire Alarm equipment (once the bugs have been identified and repaired) is up there with the best. A decent 401K

    Inconvénients

    Having spent over 15 years in the Boston Market, and seen the transition from Simplex to SimplexGrinnell, it is sad to see the changes that have taken place: local management are hired for their abilities to run numbers - not departments or projects, experienced staff are routinely fired as they do not "fit" with the new way of doing (screwing customers) business, there is no accountability from management - field personnel...

    Avantages

    Decent salary and company car. Most of the people that you work with are great people. Good training and products.

    Inconvénients

    As a sales person they are always making adjustments to the compensation plan that make it more difficult for you to financially excel. They also put way too much responsibilities on much of the admin staff, sales team and field teams. They are not adequately staffed.

    The growth strategy is flawed. Focus cannot always be on shareholder return and having the local offices 'do more with less' year after year.

    This is a great place to learn sales. The amount of skills and sales experience I received in the 8 years I was with them were invaluable and have only helped me moving forward. Salespeople get a company car that includes gas, insurance and maintenance. Benefits are not bad (they were better years ago) and as far as pay, it's average for the industry.     Unfortunately, SimplexGrinnell has become your typical corporation where they say the customers come first but in reality, the bottom line was by far the most important. I would constantly hear how we need to keep the shareholders happy and a lot of times this would take precedence over the client.     You need to offer incentives that are actually attainable. By making the bar so ridiculously high and the numbers you are looking for so convoluted, it takes the fun out of even trying to attain them. Don't kid yourselves in thinking that salespeople are motivated by just money alone. Recognition goes a long way and being acknowledged for your hard work is everything we work for. I loved getting a big commission check...
